Soak up the Magnesium
If you are convinced about the wonders of magnesium, but do not want to take it orally, you can use a liquid magnesium
oil and let your body soak up the goodness of transdermal magnesium oil…
Why do they call it Magneiusm
Oil?Magnesium oil is really not an oil. It is made from consentraed sea water with the
sodium chloride removed. They call it magnesium oil because it is high in magnesium chloride and because it is so consenrated that
it has a viscosity of a light oil. We prefer to call our product Magnesium Rub because there is no such thing as a magnesium oil.
Magnesium Rub does feel like a silky dense liquid resembleing a light oil but it is not oily. Because so many people refer to the
product as magnesium oil, we will use the term magnesium oil in this article. All magnesium oils are made from sea water; eiher an ancient
sea way down deep or from sea water on the earth.
What could be simpler than getting your daily requirement of magnesium by spraying it right onto your body? Transdermal Magnesium Therapy refers to absorption of magnesium through skin. This method of absorbing magnesium bypasses the digestive system and is particularly beneficial for those who experience a mild laxative effect when they take magnesium orally.
When applied to the skin, liquid magnesium is absorbed quickly and reaches the places that have an obvious need for it. Those who have a very high requirement for magnesium should use liquid magnesium along with oral supplements to avoid loose stools.
But will my skin feel oily?
Not really… Natural Calm Essence of Life Magnesium Therapy is extracted from ocean water - it is natural ocean water in its most condensed form. We start with sea water - sun exposure removes water content via evaporation and binds sodium with chloride forming salt crystals. Magnesium, the next most abundant component, also binds with chloride, but assumes the consistency of light oil. This is pure nutrition and contains magnesium and other trace elements (copper, sodium, iron, manganese, calcium, nickel, potassium, selenium, zinc, etc) in a proportion best suited to our cell physiology.
Is this liquid magnesium just as good as the more expensive ones that are on the market?
We believe that it is because the sea water is harvested far away from shore. While we could harvest the magnesium from ancient sea beds, we don’t feel that the extra costs justify the process.
The magnesium chloride is concentrated and most of the sodium is removed.
With our filtering and concentration process, we feel we are providing a high quality product at a reasonable price.
This product is also often referred to as Magnesium Oil. The name Magnesium oil comes from its viscous texture. However, we prefer to not use the name Magnesium Oil because it gives the impression that it will feel greasy on the skin or stain your clothing, which is not the case.
The former name of our product was Essence of Life Magnesium Oil.
Benefits of Transdermal Magnesium Therapy
Magnesium is a miracle mineral and has a healing effect on a wide range of diseases. It is essential for many enzyme reactions, helps in cellular energy production and is critical for proper functioning of our nervous system. Unlike other Natural Calm Magnesium supplements (that contain the highly absorbable Magnesium citrate), transdermal magnesium is in the form of magnesium chloride. Magnesium chloride is an impressive infection fighter and has also been proven to either cure or significantly aid in the cure of: Acne, Eczema, Cancer, Boils, Tetanus, Allergic diseases, Heart disease, diabetes, common cold and Asthma.
"I've been a fan of your range for only a short time but I am hooked on your Magnesium Gel. I'm so pleased to have found it as this is truly something else! I have troublesome skin, it's often sensitive, looks dull and reacts badly to many products, even organic at times. I started using this gel a few days after receiving it and noticed very quickly that the unsightly dry skin I had on my knuckles was fading. I have always been very conscious of the way my hands look; so can't tell you how pleased I was when this cream took effect. My hands feel less sore, they look better and feel really supple and that is a rarity for me, so I'm delighted. I have also been using it on other problem areas I have and found it so gently effective on my skin that I tried it on my eldest son (9 years). He gets rough skin patches in the creases of his neck and behind his ears. I have been using a small amount of the gel on those areas after bath time for around a week now and the results have been equally good - the sore red patches are significantly less and like my own, his skin is more supple, calmer and less of an irritation. In short, this gel is working really well for me and my son - nothing we've tried previously has been as effective at calming our skin so gently - and it's really such great news for us."

Research amply supports benefits of transdermal magnesium therapy in the following instances:
Restore Body’s Magnesium level
When you spray this magnesium product on your skin, it absorbs better than a product like Epsom salt because it stays moist on your skin which will aid in absorption. Dr Norman Shealy, MD (1) who pioneered studies in transdermal magnesium chloride therapy recruited 16 individuals with low magnesium at the cell level. They found that 75% of the individuals had a higher magnesium level in their cells after four weeks of a daily foot soaking and skin spraying.
When used transdermally, Magnesium chloride (magnesium oil) has a major advantage over magnesium sulfate (commonly known as Epsom salts) as it is hygroscopic and attracts water, thus staying wet on the skin and improving its chances of getting absorbed. Dr Norman Shealy, MD (1) who pioneered studies in transdermal magnesium chloride therapy, recruited 16 individuals with low intracellular magnesium levels. He documented their magnesium levels before and after one month of daily soaks and spraying, and found that 12 out of his 16 patients (75%) had significantly improved intracellular magnesium levels after four weeks of foot soaking and skin spraying.
Prof. Pierre Delbet, MD., a French surgeon, was the first prominent researcher to investigate the antiseptic effects of magnesium. In 1915, Pierre Delbet (2) began to experiment with mineral solutions as antiseptic and discovered that unlike traditionally used antiseptics, magnesium chloride was harmless to cell tissue. It also greatly increased leukocyte activity and aided in phagocytosis (destruction of microbes). In his later experiments, Prof. Delbet found that after magnesium chloride intake, white blood cells destroyed up to three times more microbes than before.
Prevention/treatment of Cancer
Prof. Delbet (3) also investigated the relationship between Magnesium and Cancer and found that Magnesium Chloride slowed cancer in laboratory animals. In his subsequent clinical and experimental studies, he found that Magnesium Chloride had a very good effect on prevention of cancer and enabled him to cure pre-cancerous conditions like leucoplasia, hyperkeratosis, chronic mastitis, etc. He also demonstrated that the regions with soil more rich in magnesium had less cancer incidence, and vice versa. His books, "Politique Preventive du Cancer" (1944) and "L'Agriculture et la Santé" (1945)contains the first documented reports of his studies on Magnesium Chloride.
More recently, Aleksandrowicz et al in Poland (4) concluded that inadequacy of Magnesium and antioxidants are important risk factors in predisposition to leukemia. Magnesium deficiency seems to be carcinogenic and a high level of supplemented magnesium inhibits carcinogenesis.
Studies by Dr. Russell Blaylock (5) further reiterate the association of low magnesium with dramatic increases in free radical generation as well as glutathione (an antioxidant that neutralizes mercury) depletion. Without the cleaning work of glutathione, cells decay. Accumulation of cellular filth and heavy metals attracts deadly infection/cancer.
International Medical Veritas Association (www.imva.info/) states that magnesium chloride is the first and most important item in any person's cancer treatment strategy. Their advice for cancer patients (Survival Medicine Cancer Protocol) is to almost drown oneself in transdermally applied magnesium chloride from the first day. Three to four months of intense topical application is expected to drive up the cellular magnesium levels to where they should be. “For many people whose bodies are starving for magnesium, the experience is not too much different than for a person coming out of a desert desperate for water. It is that basic to life, that important, that necessary.”
Cure for diphtheria Shock
A contemporary of Dr Delbert, Dr Neveu, MD. (6) experimented with magnesium chloride as a method of controlling anaphylactic shock in diphtheria patients - a side effect of the serum used to cure the disease. Within 24 hours (and without applying the serum) Dr Neveu had cured his patient. He started a case study and concluded that the application of magnesium chloride (through ingestion) cleared up every case of diphtheria within 48 hours.
To Boost Immunity
Dr Neveu also observed that magnesium chloride has no direct effect on bacteria (i.e. it is not an antibiotic). He used this specific, immune-enhancing action of magnesium chloride against many viral diseases. Neveu also found magnesium chloride effective with asthma, bronchitis, pneumonia and emphysema; pharyngitis, tonsillitis, hoarseness, common cold, influenza, whooping cough, measles, rubella, mumps, scarlet fever; poisoning, gastro-enteritis, boils, abscesses, whitlow, infected wounds and osteomyelitis.
Magnesium chloride also has a specific action on the tetanus virus and its effects on the body. It even seems to be protective against snakebites. Guinea pigs did not die after normally lethal injections of snake venom and a rabbit survived a poisonous snakebite when given magnesium, some studies indicate.
In more recent years, Dr Raul Vergini (7) et al have confirmed the findings of Dr Delbert and Dr Neveu and have added more diseases to the list of successful uses of magnesium chloride - acute asthma attacks, shock, tetanus, herpes zoster, acute and chronic conjunctivitis, optic neuritis, rheumatic diseases, many allergic diseases and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
UK Edition of Red Magazine (December 2009) tested Essence of Life Magnesium Gel on a user who suffers
from painful rheumatoid arthritis that effects her sleep. Here is what she said about it:
“Within minutes of applying the oil, I felt like someone has poured molasses into my brain; I was totally calm.
I also felt my muscles relaxing and even the pain reducing a little…”
Maybe I am not Magnesium-deficient…
The Required Daily Value for magnesium is 400 milligrams. Stress, restrictions on diet or too much sugar deplete the magnesium level in your body. You can increase magnesium content in your diet by consuming green vegetables and whole grains. Click to see a chart showing the amount of magnesium in some select food sources.
Even if you are particular about eating a well-balanced diet, chances are that you might still need to fortify your daily requirement with supplements like Natural Calm Magnesium Supplement.
